Role Overview: Chief Mechanic

Arabian Drilling Co. is seeking a Chief Mechanic to join our team in Dhahran. This full-time role is central to ensuring the smooth operation and optimal performance of all equipment within our drilling operations. The Chief Mechanic directs maintenance activities, troubleshoots mechanical issues, and implements preventative maintenance programs to maximize equipment uptime and safety.

Key Responsibilities

• Directing and overseeing all maintenance activities.
• Troubleshooting and resolving complex mechanical issues.
• Implementing and managing preventative maintenance programs.
• Performing mechanical equipment maintenance and repair.
• Managing parts ordering and inventory.
• Administering the preventative maintenance system (PMS).
• Overseeing Mechanical Operations & Maintenance.
• Managing inventory and relevant financial aspects related to mechanical operations.
• Ensuring effective documentation and communication of maintenance activities.
• Upholding and enforcing Safety, Quality & Compliance standards.
• Leading, mentoring, and developing the mechanical team.

Experience Requirements

• A minimum of 10 years of experience in onshore and offshore drilling operations.
• At least 3 years of experience specifically as a Chief Mechanic.
• Previous experience and direct exposure to rig drilling equipment.
• Demonstrated experience in leading and motivating a mechanical maintenance team.

Essential Skills and Qualifications

• Extensive experience diagnosing and repairing complex mechanical problems on drilling rigs.
• Proven ability to develop and implement effective preventative maintenance programs.
• Strong understanding of safety regulations and procedures within the oil and gas industry.

Reporting and Work Environment

The Chief Mechanic reports directly to the Preventive Maintenance Manager. This is a full-time position based in Dhahran, contributing to the operational success of Arabian Drilling Co.'s diverse fleet.
