The Deputy Project Manager Role

As a Deputy Project Manager, you will report directly to the Project Manager and be an integral part of the Energy Carries within the Project Management Team. This full-time position is based in Dhahran, Eastern Province, requiring 5-10 years of experience in a relevant field. The role involves assisting in the planning, coordination, and control of project execution, ensuring effective communication with clients, and managing project-related issues.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist the Project Manager in planning, coordinating, and controlling project execution.
• Support the Project Manager in maintaining effective client communication and resolving project issues.
• Act as the coordination focal point with Aramco for change orders, variations, technical clarifications, and execution requirements, ensuring proper assessment, documentation, approval, and implementation.
• Coordinate with all project departments to ensure effective execution, monitor progress, identify and resolve issues, and provide regular status updates.
• Represent Saipem towards Clients, Licensors, Partners, and Subcontractors, managing contractual aspects.
• Ensure adherence to the Saipem leadership Model within the Project Management Team.
• Analyze and review contractual documents.
• Implement methodologies related to risk/opportunity, knowledge management, and lessons learned.
• Ensure compliance with Saipem Golden Rules and Silver Guidelines.
• Oversee the implementation of project strategies and planning (Project Execution Plan, Quality Plan).
• Supervise all project activities concerning Quality, HSE, and Sustainability.
• Stay updated on and implement project management tools and methodologies.
• Ensure the issuance and implementation of all required home office and site procedures.
• Approve and supervise planning and cost control activities, implementing corrective actions to achieve project objectives and ensuring project reports are issued.
• Supervise home office engineering and procurement activities.
• Supervise site/yard and onshore activities.
• Negotiate with the Client to reach agreement on outstanding pricing, commercial, contractual, and technical aspects of variation orders.
• Maintain a trusting relationship with the Client and monitor satisfaction.
• Monitor final back charges to be applied to third parties.
• Ensure the collection of project feedback and issuance of final project reports (*, Close-out Report, root cause analysis).
• Ensure the issuance of completion and delivery certificates.
• Provide assistance to the Client during the guarantee period.

Qualifications and Experience

• 5-10 years of experience in a relevant field.
• Demonstrated ability to assist in project planning, coordination, and control.
• Experience in client communication and issue resolution.
• Familiarity with contractual obligations and change management processes.
