About the Role

BAE Systems Saudi Arabia is seeking an experienced IDS Simulator Instructor – WSO to join their team in Dhahran. This full-time position involves training Royal Saudi Air Force (RSAF) Tornado pilots and Weapon System Officers (WSOs) in a simulated environment. BAE Systems Saudi Arabia is committed to supporting the Saudi Arabian National Agenda, including Saudisation and the development of Saudi National capability.

Core Responsibilities

As an IDS Simulator Instructor WSO, your primary responsibility is to deliver comprehensive training to RSAF Tornado aircrews. You will report to the RSAF appointed Simulator Officer. Key duties include:

• Conducting ground school sessions for all RSAF Tornado courses.
• Delivering continuation training lectures and practical exercises based on aircrew operational requirements.
• Potentially acting as a Standardisation Evaluation Flight Examiner for simulator and other ground evaluations.
• Serving as a subject matter expert for other associated duties as required.
• Providing instruction on flight planning, including normal and advanced equipment usage.
• Conducting mission briefings, execution, and debriefings for all training sorties.
• Instructing on mission planning across all flight phases, focusing on desired tactics and employment options/techniques.
• Operating associated simulators and cockpit trainers, including egress training.
• Training selected RSAF personnel to become qualified simulator instructors.

Required Qualifications and Experience

To be considered for this role, candidates must meet the following criteria:

• Recent experience as a Tornado flight lead WSO.
• A minimum of 250 hours of previous instructor time in any fighter aircraft.
• Over 1000 hours as combat-ready aircrew.
• Graduation from an academic instructor course or an equivalent qualification.

Note: Qualification shortfalls may be subject to Customer waiver.
