Medical Lab Technician

About the Role

sraco is seeking a Medical Lab Technician to join their team in Dhahran. This full-time role involves performing various medical laboratory procedures with a strong focus on patient care, safety, and accurate sample processing. The position requires 2-5 years of relevant experience.

Key Responsibilities

• Follow JHAH policies and established procedures for positive patient identification.
• Determine required blood volume for each test and collect sufficient samples to avoid Quantity Not Sufficient (QNS).
• Identify correct tube types and transport conditions for all tests, including referral tests, and prioritize STAT samples.
• Perform blood collection on pediatric patients while maintaining high standards of patient care, demonstrating empathy and compassion.
• Safely use lancets and Tenderfoot devices for neonates and infants, selecting appropriate puncture sites.
• Follow international aseptic techniques for blood culture collection to minimize contamination.
• Assess patients for fear or unease, explain procedures, check for allergies, and follow protocols for adverse reactions.
• Demonstrate proficiency in using Laboratory Information System (LIS) and Hospital Information System (HIS) to manage collection area activities and ensure error-free processing.
• Issue sample containers, release test orders, and accession non-blood samples.

Laboratory Safety and Professional Conduct

• Strictly adhere to all safety policies related to fire safety, infection control, Hazard Communication (HazCom), and Basic Life Support (BLS).
• Identify and properly use all required personal protective equipment (PPE) in the laboratory.
• Maintain punctuality, comply with dress code policy, and demonstrate enthusiasm and dedication to the job.

Qualifications and Experience

• 2-5 years of experience in a medical laboratory setting.
• Proficiency in medical laboratory procedures and patient care.
• Familiarity with LIS and HIS systems.

Compensation

The salary for this position ranges from SAR 5,625 to SAR 7,500.
