About the Role

Hays is seeking an OT Cybersecurity Expert, also referred to as an Industrial Control Systems Security Principal, to join their team in Dhahran, Eastern, Saudi Arabia. This full-time position is for a senior cybersecurity expert with a strong background in safeguarding industrial automation, SCADA networks, and critical infrastructure. The role focuses on building resilient OT security architectures while ensuring zero disruption to live industrial processes.

Role Context and Objectives

The primary objective of this role is to bridge the gap between engineering, IT, and plant operations. The expert will be responsible for implementing robust security measures within operational technology environments. This involves a strategic approach to cybersecurity that integrates with existing industrial processes without compromising safety or operational uptime.

Key Responsibilities

• Design Purdue-aligned architectures, including zones/conduits, IT/OT DMZs, and secure remote access solutions for SCADA, DCS, PLCs, and IIoT devices.
• Integrate industrial telemetry, such as historian data, OPC-UA, and network traffic, into SOC/SIEM platforms for real-time threat monitoring.
• Operationalize global frameworks like IEC 62443, NIST SP 800-82, and ISO 27019 into practical controls for live industrial environments.
• Establish and execute OT-specific playbooks and forensic investigations to safely manage cyber incidents in production settings.
• Conduct secure-by-design reviews for cloud integration and IIoT initiatives, ensuring safety and uptime are maintained.

Required Experience and Skills

Candidates should possess 5-10 years of relevant experience in cybersecurity, specifically within operational technology environments. The role requires a strong technical background and practical expertise in the following areas:

• Proficiency with industrial protocols, including Modbus, DNP3, OPC-UA, and IEC 60870-5.
• Hands-on experience with OT anomaly detection, industrial firewalls, and vulnerability management tools.
• Ability to translate complex technical risks into clear and concise reports for executive leadership.
