About the Role

WSP is seeking an experienced Associate Director / Associate - Structural Engineering to join its Structural Engineering team in Jeddah, Makkah. This full-time position is central to coordinating the local structural design office, managing the delivery of major building projects, and strengthening client relationships across the Kingdom. The role requires over 10 years of experience in structural engineering.

Role Overview

The successful candidate will combine technical expertise with commercial awareness and business development capabilities. This individual will represent the business with clients, contractors, and key stakeholders, contributing to business growth within the region.

Key Responsibilities

• Act as a primary client contact, fostering relationships with existing and prospective clients.
• Support business development through client meetings, networking, proposal preparation, presentations, and bid submissions.
• Identify opportunities to expand client relationships and secure new projects.
• Contribute to commercial discussions, fee proposals, scope definition, and contract negotiations.
• Lead the structural delivery of complex building projects, ensuring quality, technical excellence, and compliance with standards.
• Provide technical guidance to project teams and assist in resolving engineering and project delivery challenges.
• Review and oversee structural calculations, reports, drawings, and technical submissions.
• Coordinate structural engineering resources within the Jeddah office for efficient project delivery.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to achieve project outcomes.
• Manage project programmes, budgets, and deliverables to meet client expectations.
• Promote innovation, digital delivery, and best practices in structural engineering and BIM workflows.
• Mentor and support engineers within the team, encouraging technical development and knowledge sharing.
• Represent the business in client meetings, workshops, and industry events.
• Ensure compliance with quality, health, safety, and environmental requirements.

Experience and Qualifications

• Over 10 years of experience in structural engineering.
• Demonstrated technical expertise in structural engineering.
• Strong commercial awareness and business development capability.
• Ability to confidently represent the business with clients, contractors, and key stakeholders.

Work Environment

This position is based in Jeddah, Makkah, and is a full-time role within WSP's Structural Engineering team. The role involves contributing to landmark projects and collaborating with professionals in the field.
