The Role of Executive Pastry Chef

Shangri-La Hotel in Jeddah is seeking an Executive Pastry Chef for a full-time position. This role is responsible for overseeing the entire operation of the pastry and bakery department. The Executive Pastry Chef will implement standardized procedures, rules, and regulations in alignment with Shangri-La Hotel standards and policies. The position requires 5-10 years of experience.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist the Executive Chef in managing all pastry operations and preparation, ensuring compliance with Food & Beverage policies, standards, and procedures.
• Create and execute pastry and bakery menus.
• Ensure compliance with all local, state, and hygiene standards.
• Maintain standards for purchasing, receiving, and food storage.
• Administer department policies fairly and consistently.
• Conduct daily walk-throughs of the pastry kitchen to ensure full compliance with Department of Health regulations and Shangri-La Hotel standards.
• Participate in hotel promotional activities, including cooking demonstrations, media events, and guest interactions.
• Collaborate with the culinary team to develop seasonal and special event menus, incorporating new techniques and trends.
• Oversee and manage the day-to-day operations of the pastry department, including staff scheduling, inventory control, and budget management.
