About the Role

Panda Retail Company – Savola Group is seeking a Category Manager to join their team in Makkah, with operations spanning Jeddah and Makkah. This full-time role is responsible for developing and executing customer-centric category business plans, managing the overall performance of assigned categories through strategic implementation across various commercial aspects.

Role Purpose and Context

The Category Manager will manage the overall performance of assigned categories by developing and implementing strategies across product assortment, pricing, promotions, shelf presentation, supplier management, and inventory planning. The role involves close collaboration with internal teams and suppliers to drive category sales, profitability, availability, and customer satisfaction.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage the overall performance, sales, profitability, and growth of assigned categories.
• Develop category strategies and translate them into actionable plans for each sub-category, including defining category roles and Private Label/Own Brand strategies.
• Conduct monthly and quarterly category performance reviews and implement corrective actions.
• Develop and optimize product assortment based on customer needs, market trends, and category performance, analyzing customer behavior and sales data.
• Define and implement pricing strategies, set and review selling prices, and manage category margins and profitability.
• Plan and manage category promotional activities, including item selection, communication, forecasting, and post-promotion reviews.
• Build sustainable Joint Business Plans (JBPs) with key suppliers, manage communication, and support negotiations.
• Improve inventory turns while maintaining appropriate product availability, setting and reviewing Minimum Facing Quantity (MFQ) and Minimum Display Quantity (MDQ).
• Manage category resets and monitor planogram execution across stores, applying Category Management (CATMAN) principles.
• Set clear objectives and KPIs for direct reports, provide coaching, and support employee development and engagement.

Qualifications and Experience

• A minimum of 5 to 10 years of relevant experience is required for this role.

Work Environment

This is a full-time position based in Makkah, Saudi Arabia, with responsibilities covering operations in Jeddah and Makkah. The role involves working collaboratively with internal teams and external suppliers.
