The Role of Project Manager

AECOM is seeking a Project Manager to join its team in Makkah, with operations spanning Jeddah and Makkah. This full-time role involves managing highly complex engineering projects, often encompassing national clients, a full spectrum of engineering services, high-rise and vertical construction, or projects involving litigation, environmental protection, due diligence, and regulatory compliance. The Project Manager will oversee all phases of project delivery, with a focus on engineering and project management controls (PMC).

Key Responsibilities

• Manage one or more highly complex engineering projects, which may involve national clients, a full spectrum of engineering services, high-rise and vertical construction, or other complexities such as litigation, environmental protection, due diligence, and regulatory compliance.
• Oversee all phases of project delivery from conception through closeout, emphasizing engineering controls and project management controls (PMC), including specialized expertise in high-rise building systems and vertical construction methodologies.
• Direct engineering coordination, technical documentation, scheduling, and cost controls across the project lifecycle, demonstrating capability in managing multi-story and high-rise structural, mechanical, and systems integration.
• Exercise consenting and regulatory authority for technical and administrative approvals, including high-rise building code compliance and vertical construction permitting.
• Supervise and mentor other Project Managers, ensuring adherence to PMC standards, engineering best practices, and high-rise project delivery excellence.
• Develop and implement project controls strategies, including earned value management, risk assessment, and technical performance metrics specific to high-rise construction environments.
• Coordinate with engineering disciplines to ensure technical quality, schedule adherence, and budget compliance across multi-disciplinary high-rise projects.
• Maintain comprehensive project documentation and engineering records in accordance with industry standards, client requirements, and high-rise construction protocols.

Required Qualifications and Experience

• A minimum of 5 to 10 years of relevant experience in project management.
• Demonstrated experience in managing complex engineering projects, particularly those involving high-rise and vertical construction.
• Proficiency in project management controls (PMC) and engineering best practices.
• Capability in managing multi-story and high-rise structural, mechanical, and systems integration.
• Knowledge of high-rise building code compliance and vertical construction permitting.
