About WSP in the Middle East
WSP in the Middle East is seeking a Survey Engineer to join its team. This full-time position is based in Jeddah and Makkah, Saudi Arabia, focusing on critical infrastructure and utilities projects within the region.
Role Overview
The Survey Engineer will be responsible for ensuring accurate surveying, precise setting out, and strict compliance with project specifications across all site activities. This role operates within a consultancy/PMC environment, focusing specifically on utilities and infrastructure developments.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform and supervise all surveying activities for utilities and infrastructure works, including roads, drainage, water, and sewer systems.
- Establish control points and benchmarks, ensuring precise setting out of works.
- Review contractor survey submissions, shop drawings, and as-built drawings.
- Verify survey data to ensure compliance with project specifications and QA/QC standards.
- Liaise with consultants, contractors, and site teams for coordination and issue resolution.
- Prepare and review survey reports, calculations, and all relevant documentation.
- Monitor contractor survey activities and ensure adherence to approved methodologies.
- Utilize Total Station, GPS (RTK), and leveling equipment effectively on site.
- Support progress measurement and quantity verification processes.
Required Qualifications and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree or Diploma in Surveying, Civil Engineering, or a related field.
- 5–10 years of experience in utilities and infrastructure projects.
- Mandatory experience working with engineering consultancy/PMC firms, specifically from the consultant side.
- Experience in KSA/GCC projects is preferred.
Skills and Attributes
- Strong knowledge of survey standards, QA/QC procedures, and site supervision practices.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD and various survey-related software.
- Demonstrated strong coordination and communication skills.
Work Environment and Location
This is a full-time position requiring on-site presence for projects located across Jeddah and Makkah, Saudi Arabia. The role involves working closely with various project stakeholders in a dynamic construction environment.
