I & C Technician

About the Role

Acwa China is seeking an I & C Technician to join their team in Medina, Saudi Arabia. This full-time role involves carrying out maintenance, installation, overhauling, and modification activities on the plant’s instrumentation and control systems and equipment. The ideal candidate will have 2-5 years of relevant experience.

Job Purpose

The I & C Technician is responsible for ensuring the effective functionality and reliability of plant instrumentation and control systems. This is achieved by adhering to standard maintenance procedures, HSE guidelines, and quality standards during all maintenance, installation, overhauling, and modification activities.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform routine preventative instrumentation and control maintenance according to schedule and ACWA NOMAC procedures to ensure continuous operations.
• Monitor the physical condition of all assigned plant systems and equipment, reporting non-conformances to the Instrumentation and Control Engineer/Supervisor.
• Respond to instrumentation and control failures, implementing corrective actions in line with procedures to minimize downtime and maximize equipment functionality.
• Troubleshoot malfunctions using necessary tools and spare parts, including diagnosis, dismantling, repair, part replacement, checking, cleaning, and reassembly to ensure instruments are calibrated and in good working condition.
• Diagnose causes of malfunction or failure in operational equipment such as control valves and transmitters, taking corrective measures in collaboration with the Instrumentation and Control Engineer/Supervisor.
• Interpret technical manuals, control diagrams, and system diagrams to perform maintenance and troubleshooting tasks.
• Align, adjust, and calibrate systems and equipment to specifications, maintaining records of repairs, calibrations, and tests.

Documentation and Reporting

• Update the maintenance logbook and record details of work performed, including defaults, problems, findings, and conditions of all instrumentation and control systems.

Health, Safety, Security & Environment

• Adhere to all relevant health, safety, security, and environmental procedures, instructions, and controls to ensure employee safety and environmental compliance.

Experience Required

Candidates should possess 2-5 years of experience in a relevant field.
