About the Role

Marriott Hotels Resorts is seeking a Supervisor Occupational Safety & Health to join their team in Medina, Al Madinah, Saudi Arabia. This full-time role focuses on ensuring a safe and healthy work environment by assessing risks, inspecting facilities, and promoting safe practices among associates. The supervisor will play a key role in minimizing work-related illness and injury.

Key Responsibilities

• Assess risks within the hotel work environment to minimize associate illness and injury.
• Inspect hazardous factors in the work environment and evaluate the quality of equipment and facilities.
• Advise, monitor, and report on workplace safety, engaging staff in programs that verify safe practices.
• Assist management with training, motivating, and coaching employees on safety protocols.
• Serve as a primary contact for the Guarantee of Fair Treatment/Open Door Policy process.
• Report accidents, injuries, and unsafe work conditions to management.
• Complete required safety training and certifications.
• Verify adherence to quality expectations and standards, including uniform and personal appearance.
• Maintain confidentiality of proprietary information and protect company assets.
• Communicate professionally with guests and colleagues, anticipating service needs and supporting team goals.
• Prepare and review written documents accurately and completely.
• Perform physical tasks including moving, lifting, carrying, pushing, and placing objects up to 50 pounds independently, and over 75 pounds with assistance.
• Navigate various work environments, including narrow, confined, elevated, sloping, uneven, or slippery surfaces, and use stairs/ramps.
• Inspect tools, equipment, or machines visually to identify defects.
• Perform other reasonable job duties as requested by supervisors.

Qualifications and Requirements

• Education: Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university in Occupational Health and Safety.
• Related Work Experience: A minimum of 2 years of related work experience.
• Supervisory Experience: At least 1 year of supervisory experience.
• Certifications: Completion of safety training and certifications as required.

Skills and Abilities

• Ability to speak with others using clear and professional language.
• Proficiency in preparing and reviewing written documents accurately.
• Skill in developing and maintaining positive working relationships.
• Ability to listen and respond appropriately to concerns.
• Capability to read and visually verify information in various formats.
• Competence in entering and locating work-related information using computers and/or point of sale systems.
• Fine motor skills and hand-eye coordination for grasping, turning, and manipulating objects.

Work Environment and Physical Demands

The role requires the ability to move at a speed necessary to respond to work situations, stand, sit, or walk for extended periods or an entire shift. It also involves physical demands such as reaching overhead and below the knees, bending, twisting, pulling, and stooping.
