Design Engineer

About the Role

Mitsubishi Electric Saudi Ltd. is seeking an experienced Design Engineer to join their team in Jeddah, Makkah, Saudi Arabia. This full-time role involves preparing detailed working diagrams for escalator and elevator projects, ensuring effective project implementation in accordance with design standards, policies, and procedures. The position requires 2-5 years of progressive experience in a relevant field.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop detailed design drawings and specifications for escalator/elevator projects, tools, and controls using computer-assisted drafting (CAD) applications, providing instructions and comments on drawings.
• Review and analyze specifications, sketches, drawings, ideas, and related data to assess factors affecting component installations and to determine required procedures and instructions.
• Verify dimensions of materials to be used and assign identification numbers to materials.
• Modify and revise designs to correct operating deficiencies or to reduce installation and maintenance problems.
• Print and file documents and drawings for easy retrieval and access.
• Maintain an archived database of all completed work.
• Lay out, draw, and reproduce illustrations for reference manuals and technical publications to describe the operation and maintenance of escalators and elevators.
• Interpret layout manuals and duty cables to prepare all layout drawings and other inter-office drawing requirements.
• Provide technical support to sales and installation teams, and maintain elevator and escalator drawings.
• Coordinate and consult with other engineers and workers to design, lay out, or detail components and systems, and to resolve design or other related problems.

Operational Adherence and Improvement

• Adhere to all relevant Engineering Department policies, processes, standard operating procedures, and instructions to ensure controlled and consistent work execution.
• Contribute to identifying opportunities for continuous improvement of systems, processes, and practices, considering leading practices, business process enhancement, cost reduction, and productivity improvement.
• Promote the implementation of and adherence to policies, processes, and operating procedures among colleagues within Mitsubishi Electric Saudi Ltd.

Required Experience

• A minimum of 2 to 5 years of successful and progressive experience as a Design Engineer, preferably within the escalator/elevator industry.
