About the Role
Marriott International is seeking a Government Relation Specialist for a full-time position in Makkah. This role involves assisting and supporting management and the leadership team with various Human Resources functions, ensuring compliance with company policies and legal requirements.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist management and the leadership team in handling and resolving Human Resources issues.
- Support employees with internal and external transfer requests and procedures.
- Monitor and assist managers/supervisors with hiring processes and related issues.
- Coordinate and conduct applicant screenings, including drug screens, reference checks, background checks, motor vehicle checks, and social security number verification.
- Maintain logs for applicant flow, drug screens, orientation, and transfer requests.
- Create and maintain new hire and personnel files, ensuring accurate entry into Human Resources Information Systems.
- Assist with the orientation of new employees.
- Monitor all hiring and recruitment processes to ensure compliance with local, state, federal laws, and company policies and standards.
- Ensure accurate maintenance of all employee records and files, such as interview documents and I-9s.
- Support the processing and maintenance of payroll records in accordance with policies and procedures, as needed.
- Inform Human Resources management of issues related to employee relations within the division or property.
- Create and maintain filing systems and generate Human Resources data reports as necessary.
- Answer phone calls, record messages, and create office correspondence using computer systems.
- Serve as a Human Resources subject matter expert and participate on project teams.
- Train new hires on Human Resources processes, programs, policies, and information systems.
- Adhere to all company policies and procedures, maintain a professional appearance, and ensure confidentiality of proprietary information.
- Communicate professionally, prepare accurate written documents, and answer telephones using appropriate etiquette.
- Develop and maintain positive working relationships, support team goals, and respond appropriately to employee concerns.
- Perform other reasonable job duties as requested by supervisors.
Qualifications and Experience
- High school diploma or * equivalent.
- At least 1 year of related work experience.
- No supervisory experience is required for this role.
Work Environment
This is a full-time position based in Makkah, Saudi Arabia. The role requires the ability to move, lift, carry, push, pull, and place objects weighing less than or equal to 10 pounds without assistance.
