The Role of Learning and Development Officer

SSCL is seeking a Learning and Development Officer to join its team in Makkah, specifically covering Jeddah and Makkah. This full-time role involves developing and implementing e-learning solutions, managing the Learning Management System (LMS), and evaluating training effectiveness. The position requires 2-5 years of relevant experience.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design and develop interactive e-learning courses and digital training materials using modern authoring tools and learning platforms.
  • Collaborate with subject matter experts (SMEs) to translate training requirements into effective e-learning content.
  • Manage the Learning Management System (LMS), including content upload, learner tracking, and reporting.
  • Implement blended learning solutions that combine e-learning, virtual training, and on-the-job learning.
  • Evaluate training effectiveness through learner feedback, assessments, and performance improvement metrics.
  • Update existing e-learning courses to ensure accuracy, relevance, and compliance with company policies and standards.
  • Ensure accessibility, usability, and alignment of all training materials with corporate competency frameworks.
  • Coordinate with IT and HR teams to maintain the functionality, security, and integration of learning technologies.
  • Support employees and managers with technical assistance and guidance on e-learning tools and systems.
  • Research emerging learning technologies, tools, and methodologies to recommend enhancements to digital learning strategies.
  • Monitor vendor performance and ensure quality in outsourced e-learning content or LMS services.
  • Prepare reports and dashboards on training participation, completion rates, and learning outcomes for management review.
  • Ensure alignment of individual and team efforts with the organization’s strategic goals, fostering a culture of collaboration, accountability, and continuous improvement.
  • Perform any additional duties or tasks assigned by the direct supervisor to support departmental and organizational objectives.

Qualifications and Experience

  • A minimum of 2-5 years of experience in a learning and development role, with a focus on e-learning and LMS management.
  • Demonstrated ability to design and develop digital training content.
  • Experience with various learning platforms and authoring tools.

Work Environment and Location

This is a full-time position based in the Makkah region, with responsibilities covering both Jeddah and Makkah. The role involves working within a collaborative environment focused on continuous improvement and strategic alignment.
