About the Role

National Medical Care is seeking a Senior Registrar ER Physician to join their team in Makkah, Saudi Arabia. This full-time role involves providing comprehensive patient care within the Emergency Room, maintaining high professional standards under the supervision of a Consultant or Head of ER. The position requires 2-5 years of relevant experience.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide patient care in accordance with professional medical ethics, CBAHI/JCIA standards, hospital by-laws, and Ministry of Health regulations.
  • Ensure high-quality medical treatment, compassion, and understanding for all patients.
  • Practice within clinically relevant and scientifically valid standards and guidelines.
  • Participate in the development and maintenance of medical contingency disaster plans.
  • Maintain the quality of the triage system performed by ER Nurses.
  • Supervise the performance of assigned ER physicians.
  • Perform diagnostic and therapeutic procedures within the scope of specialty privileges.
  • Assess and refer appropriate patients to other medical facilities as needed.
  • Participate in the departmental on-call rota for patient care.
  • Uphold patient rights regarding security, confidentiality, and privacy.
  • Respond to emergencies, offering advice and active participation when required.
  • Maintain accurate, timely, and legible patient medical records.
  • Supervise duties of assigned junior staff.
  • Provide leadership for performance improvement functions within the Departmental Quality Plan.
  • Actively participate in Continued Medical Education (CME) through hospital activities and national/international conferences.
  • Engage in training programs for junior medical staff, nursing staff, and technicians.
  • Continuously update medical knowledge and upgrade professional skills.
  • Participate in assigned committee meetings (*, Quality Improvement, Infection Control).
  • Adhere to department policies, procedures, hospital by-laws, rules, and regulations.
  • Educate patients and families according to their needs, involving them in the plan of care and respecting their choices.
  • Provide health promotion and teaching appropriate to the patient's developmental level, learning needs, and cultural background.
  • Allocate time to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient education, ensuring proper documentation.
  • Perform other applicable tasks and duties as assigned within the scope of knowledge, skills, and abilities.

Qualifications and Experience

  • 2-5 years of experience in a relevant medical field.
  • Demonstrated professional competence in patient care.
  • Ability to work effectively under supervision while maintaining high standards.
