Job Description
About the Contracts Advisor Role
KBR, Inc. is seeking a full-time Contracts Advisor with 5-10 years of experience to join our team in the Al Madinah region, specifically in Yanbu or Medina. This vital role supports our client for the GIP Project, ensuring all contractual agreements are legally sound, beneficial for the organization, and aligned with project objectives.
Contract Drafting and Negotiation
- Draft, review, and negotiate various contracts, including service agreements, procurement contracts, and subcontracts.
- Ensure all contracts comply with legal requirements and company policies.
Contract Administration and Change Control
- Oversee contract administration to ensure compliance with commercial terms and conditions.
- Manage contract amendments, extensions, and renewals.
- Review and process change orders, ensuring proper documentation, justification, and approval according to company policies and project requirements.
- Negotiate change orders with contractors to achieve mutually beneficial agreements.
- Handle claims and disputes related to commercial terms, ensuring efficient and fair resolution.
- Prepare documentation and evidence to support claims and counterclaims.
Vendor Relations and Risk Mitigation
- Ensure commercial terms with vendors and suppliers are favorable for the company.
- Manage relationships with key suppliers to ensure timely delivery of goods and services.
- Identify potential risks within contract terms and conditions.
- Develop strategies to mitigate identified risks and ensure stakeholders are aware of potential issues.
Project Alignment and Process Improvement
- Assess the impact of proposed changes on project scope, schedule, and budget.
- Develop strategies to mitigate negative impacts and ensure smooth implementation of changes.
- Work closely with project managers to align contract terms with project goals and timelines.
- Ensure all contractual deliveries meet required quality standards.
- Monitor contract budgets and ensure adherence to financial terms.
- Conduct thorough legal research to ensure all contracts comply with relevant laws and regulations.
- Stay updated on changes in laws and regulations that may affect contract terms.
- Continuously evaluate and improve contract management processes, implementing best practices to enhance efficiency and effectiveness.
Documentation and Work Environment
- Maintain detailed records of all contract negotiations and agreements.
- Provide regular reports to senior management on contract status, performance, and compliance issues.
- The work locations will be either at the Client Office, EPC Contractor’s office, or at a Site location within KSA.
