Job Description

About the Role

Marriott International is seeking a Host/Hostess-Lead to join their team in Medina. This full-time role involves managing guest reception and seating arrangements, ensuring a smooth dining experience, and supporting team operations. The position requires 0-1 years of experience.

Key Responsibilities

  • Answer phones, manage dining reservations, and input diner information into the reservation system.
  • Maintain a waitlist and provide accurate wait times to guests.
  • Make appropriate seating decisions using a station rotation chart and organize seating for large and special needs groups.
  • Greet guests, determine party size, and seat them at clean, available tables, ensuring proper place settings.
  • Guide guests through dining areas and provide necessary assistance.
  • Monitor dining rooms for seating availability, service quality, and safety.
  • Communicate effectively with guests and colleagues to meet guest needs and foster teamwork.
  • Assist management with hiring, training, scheduling, evaluating, counseling, disciplining, motivating, and coaching employees, serving as a role model.
  • Adhere to all company and safety and security policies and procedures, report accidents or unsafe conditions, and complete required safety training.
  • Ensure a professional appearance, maintain confidentiality, and protect company assets.
  • Welcome and acknowledge all guests according to company standards, using clear and professional language.
  • Develop positive working relationships, support team goals, and respond to employee concerns.
  • Ensure adherence to quality expectations and standards.

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to stand, sit, or walk for extended periods.
  • Capability to move, lift, carry, push, pull, and place objects weighing up to 10 pounds without assistance.

Qualifications and Experience

  • 0-1 years of relevant experience.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
