The Role of Accounting Manager

Saudi Gold Refinery is seeking an Accounting Manager in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. This full-time role involves leading the financial accounting function for the company's financial operations. The Accounting Manager will ensure accurate financial reporting, regulatory compliance, and robust internal controls over inventory and activities. Reporting directly to the CEO, this position is key in safeguarding assets and providing reliable financial data for strategic decision-making. The role requires a hands-on leader capable of managing daily accounting operations while driving process efficiency and compliance improvements.

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare monthly and annual financial statements in compliance with IFRS and present them to the CEO.
  • Reconcile financial ledger balances with physical vault records inventories on a weekly basis.
  • Ensure timely and accurate filing of VAT returns and withholding tax declarations in accordance with ZATCA regulations.
  • Serve as the primary liaison for external auditors and facilitate the completion of annual and interim audits.
  • Supervise the accounting team by assigning tasks, reviewing work, and providing technical guidance on accounting standards.
  • Design and monitor internal control procedures to protect company assets and ensure the accuracy of financial records.
  • Analyze operational costs to identify variances and support budgeting and forecasting processes.
  • Manage bank reconciliations and support cash flow forecasting to ensure sufficient liquidity for operations.
  • Oversee the integration of financial data from operational systems into the ERP for accurate reporting.
  • Develop and update accounting policies and procedures to reflect changes in business operations and regulatory requirements.

Qualifications and Experience

The successful candidate will bring technical expertise in IFRS and Saudi tax laws. A minimum of 10 years of experience in a relevant accounting role is required.

Performance Metrics

  • Timely completion of month-end close within 5 working days.
  • Zero material adjustments in annual external audit reports.
  • 100% compliance with ZATCA filing deadlines and e-invoicing rules.
  • Daily reconciliation of precious-metal inventory values with zero unresolved discrepancies.
  • Accurate and timely submission of VAT and withholding tax returns.
  • Positive feedback from internal stakeholders on financial reporting clarity.
  • Development and retention of a skilled accounting team.
