Role Summary

The Assistant Director of Sales – Government & Royal Affairs (Saudi National) supports the Director of Sales in executing the hotel’s commercial strategy and revenue objectives. This full-time role primarily focuses on Government, Royal Affairs, Diplomatic, and strategic institutional accounts across the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. The position involves developing and maintaining relationships with key government entities, royal offices, ministries, authorities, embassies, and diplomatic missions to identify and secure high-value business opportunities.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support the development and execution of the annual Government & Royal Affairs sales strategy and business plan.
  • Manage and develop key government, royal, diplomatic, and strategic institutional accounts on a day-to-day basis.
  • Cultivate strong relationships with ministries, government authorities, royal offices, and diplomatic missions.
  • Identify decision-makers and influencers within target organizations to establish long-term commercial relationships.
  • Proactively identify and convert new government and institutional business opportunities.
  • Build and maintain a pipeline of government, royal, diplomatic, VIP, corporate, and MICE opportunities.
  • Lead negotiations for government rates, preferred agreements, and strategic partnerships.
  • Monitor government calendars and major national events for potential hotel demand.
  • Conduct regular sales calls, client visits, presentations, and relationship-building activities.
  • Coordinate and host high-profile government, royal, and diplomatic clients during hotel visits.
  • Collaborate with operational departments to ensure seamless delivery of VIP and government stays and events.
  • Maintain accurate account information, contacts, opportunities, and production data.
  • Support the Director of Sales in coaching and developing the Sales team.
  • Uphold confidentiality, discretion, and professionalism when dealing with high-profile clients.

Qualifications and Experience

  • Minimum of 5 years of progressive sales experience in luxury hospitality, with significant exposure to the Saudi market.
  • Proven experience managing Government, Royal Affairs, Diplomatic, or strategic institutional accounts in Saudi Arabia.
  • Established network and strong relationships with relevant Saudi government entities, ministries, and royal offices.
  • Strong understanding of the Saudi hospitality, government, corporate, and MICE landscape.
  • Demonstrated track record of achieving sales and revenue targets.
  • Excellent negotiation, communication, presentation, and relationship-management skills.
  • Ability to build trusted relationships with senior-level stakeholders.
  • Strong commercial acumen to identify opportunities and translate them into measurable revenue.
  • Experience with CRM systems, account management, sales reporting, and forecasting.
  • Understanding of luxury hospitality standards and VIP guest expectations.
  • Professional appearance and strong interpersonal skills.
