Job Description

About the Role

The Luxury Collection is seeking an Assistant Director of Food & Beverage to join its team in Ad Diriyah, Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. This full-time position involves assisting in the leadership and strategic oversight of the property's comprehensive food and beverage and culinary operations, encompassing restaurants, bars, room service, and banquets/catering.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee the development and implementation of departmental strategies, ensuring alignment with the brand's service strategy and initiatives.
  • Drive the creation and execution of promotions, food and wine pairings, menu items, and presentations.
  • Ensure the food and beverage operation consistently meets or exceeds the needs and expectations of target customers and property employees.
  • Monitor and review financial reports to assess performance against budget, ensuring adherence to cash and liquor control policies.
  • Identify and implement strategies to grow revenues and maximize the financial performance of the department.
  • Cultivate an atmosphere across all food and beverage areas that enhances guest satisfaction.
  • Review guest feedback, satisfaction results, and other data to identify and implement areas for service improvement.

Team Leadership and Development

  • Lead and manage the food and beverage teams, fostering regular and ongoing communication through briefings and meetings.
  • Set clear expectations and hold the leadership team accountable for demonstrating desired service behaviors.
  • Provide constructive feedback to employees based on service observations and address concerns through an open-door policy.
  • Review staffing levels to ensure optimal guest service and operational efficiency.
  • Hire leadership team members who possess strong functional expertise, creativity, and entrepreneurial leadership.
  • Ensure new hires receive appropriate orientation and training, and that all employees receive ongoing training to meet guest expectations.
  • Conduct annual performance appraisals and establish clear goals and expectations for direct reports.

Operational Management

  • Estimate consumption of food, liquor, wine, and other beverages to manage purchasing and requisitioning effectively.
  • Order and purchase necessary equipment and supplies for the department.
  • Communicate critical information from pre- and post-convention meetings to relevant areas of responsibility.
  • Ensure property policies are administered fairly and consistently, with disciplinary procedures following Standard and Local Operating Procedures (SOPs and LSOPs).
  • Communicate and execute departmental and property emergency procedures.

Qualifications and Experience

  • A minimum of 5 to 10 years of experience in food and beverage leadership roles.
  • Demonstrated ability to develop and execute departmental strategies aligned with business objectives.
  • Proven track record in managing financial performance, revenue growth, and cost control within a food and beverage operation.
  • Experience in leading and developing diverse teams, with a focus on employee satisfaction and service excellence.
