The Role of BJJ Coach

Arena Fitness Innovation is seeking an experienced Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu (BJJ) Coach to join its coaching team on a full-time basis. The individual in this role will be responsible for delivering high-quality BJJ training sessions, assisting members in improving their technical skills and physical performance, and cultivating a positive, safe, and motivating training environment. This position requires 5-10 years of relevant experience.

Key Responsibilities

• Deliver engaging and structured Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu classes for members across various skill levels.
• Teach and demonstrate BJJ techniques, drills, positions, submissions, and transitions.
• Ensure proper coaching, technique adherence, and safety protocols throughout all training sessions.
• Adapt training sessions according to members’ fitness levels and technical abilities.
• Monitor members’ progress and provide constructive feedback to support their development.
• Maintain a professional, energetic, and welcoming coaching environment.
• Support members in achieving their fitness and martial arts goals.
• Assist with the development of training programs and class plans.
• Ensure all equipment and training areas are used safely and maintained properly.
• Follow Arena’s coaching standards, policies, and operational procedures.
• Participate in events, workshops, competitions, and other activities when required.
• Maintain strong communication and professional relationships with members and the wider team.

Qualifications and Requirements

• Proven experience as a Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu Coach or Instructor.
• Strong technical knowledge and practical experience in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu.
• Previous experience coaching group classes is highly preferred.
• Ability to effectively work with members of different ages and skill levels.
• Demonstrated professional, energetic, and dedicated approach to coaching.

Work Schedule

The position requires the ability to work flexible shifts, which may include mornings, evenings, weekends, and split shifts, as operational needs dictate.
