About the Role: Business Development Manager, Middle East

Liferiver Bio-Tech, a molecular diagnostics company headquartered in Shanghai with an international presence, is seeking an experienced Business Development Manager for the Middle East region. This full-time role focuses on leading business development, distributor partnerships, and commercial growth, with an initial emphasis on the GCC region. The preferred station is Dubai, but exceptional candidates may be based in Riyadh or Jeddah, requiring frequent travel across core Middle East markets.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and execute commercial and channel development strategies for the Middle East, focusing on GCC markets.
• Identify, evaluate, and manage IVD and molecular diagnostics distributors throughout the region.
• Assess distributor capabilities in areas such as registration, importation, tender access, hospital coverage, after-sales support, and financial reliability.
• Build relationships with hospital groups, private healthcare networks, government laboratories, reference laboratories, Key Opinion Leaders (KOLs), and procurement stakeholders.
• Support market access and regulatory coordination for the Middle East, including Saudi Arabia and Qatar.
• Develop commercial plans covering product positioning, pricing strategy, distributor structure, annual targets, and promotional activities.
• Drive early product evaluations, reference customer development, pilot projects, and strategic account opportunities.
• Monitor competitive activities from major diagnostic companies.
• Manage sales pipeline, distributor forecasts, tender opportunities, commercial risks, and project progress.
• Represent the company at regional conferences, distributor meetings, hospital visits, and industry events.
• Provide regular market reports, competitor updates, customer feedback, and commercial recommendations to headquarters.

Qualifications and Experience

• 5–12 years of experience in IVD, molecular diagnostics, laboratory diagnostics, life science tools, medical devices, or related healthcare sectors.
• Proven experience in business development, distributor management, channel sales, or regional commercial management in the Middle East.
• Strong understanding of Middle East and GCC healthcare systems, diagnostic channels, hospital procurement, and distributor networks.
• Experience working with distributors, tenders, government accounts, hospital groups, or reference laboratories.
• Existing network among IVD distributors, laboratories, healthcare groups, or diagnostic KOLs in the Middle East.
• Ability to work independently and manage cross-border business development activities.
• Willingness to travel frequently across the GCC and selected Middle East markets.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with molecular diagnostics, PCR, infectious disease testing, health diagnostics, respiratory testing, TB, oncology diagnostics, or syndromic testing.
• Previous experience with major diagnostic companies or strong regional distributors.
• Experience launching new diagnostic products or assisting Eastern IVD companies in entering the Middle East market.
• Familiarity with regulatory and tender pathways in the Middle East, Saudi Arabia, and Qatar.

Compensation

This role offers a competitive base salary plus a performance-based bonus. Full-time employment is preferred; however, a consultant-to-hire model may be considered for selected candidates.

Reporting Structure

The Business Development Manager will report to the Head of Global Commercial / International Business Director.
