Chief Surveyor

About the Role

UNIMAC - United Maintenance and Contracting Company is seeking a Chief Surveyor to lead and coordinate all surveying activities for site infrastructure and civil engineering works in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. This full-time role involves ensuring accurate setting-out, establishment, and control of benchmarks, levels, and coordinate systems. The Chief Surveyor will manage survey teams, verify data, maintain quality standards, and integrate survey information with Civil 3D and BIM models to support project delivery.

Role Purpose

The primary purpose of this position is to oversee and manage all surveying operations, ensuring precision and compliance with project specifications and Qiddiya Authority standards. The Chief Surveyor is responsible for maintaining high accuracy in all survey data, facilitating seamless integration with design models, and supporting construction accuracy and timely project completion.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead all surveying works across QSP infrastructure packages, including roads, utilities, grading, and earthworks.
• Supervise and manage survey teams, ensuring accuracy, efficiency, and adherence to project specifications.
• Establish and control site benchmarks, control points, and coordinate systems in alignment with Qiddiya Authority standards.
• Review IFC drawings, shop drawings, and as-built surveys for accuracy and completeness.
• Verify geometric layout, horizontal/vertical alignments, and utilities tie-ins to prevent construction errors.
• Ensure calibration, maintenance, and proper use of GPS, Total Stations, Laser Scanning, and digital equipment.
• Prepare and submit survey reports, Work Inspection Requests (WIRs), and as-built data for consultant/client approval.
• Liaise with Engineering, QA/QC, BIM, and Construction teams to resolve design discrepancies.
• Provide survey support for Non-Conformance Report (NCR) closeouts, Field Change Requests (FCRs), and consultant queries.

Required Experience

Candidates for this role should possess 5-10 years of relevant experience in surveying, particularly within site infrastructure and civil engineering projects.

Work Environment and Location

This is a full-time position based in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, requiring on-site leadership and coordination of surveying teams for large-scale infrastructure projects.
