Commercial Manager, Poullaides Construction Company

Poullaides Construction Company (PCC) is seeking a full-time Commercial Manager to join its leadership team. This role is based in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, with oversight of operations in Bahrain. The position is for a commercially astute and forward-thinking leader who will drive growth, strengthen commercial performance, and protect the business contractually. Candidates should possess 5-10 years of relevant experience.

Strategic Impact of the Role

This is a strategic business leadership position, distinct from a traditional back-office commercial role. The Commercial Manager will play a pivotal role in shaping the future of the business, influencing major commercial decisions, leading high-value negotiations, and improving project profitability. The role involves building a modern, high-performing commercial function across PCC’s operations, primarily in Saudi Arabia and Bahrain, and mentoring commercial teams.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and develop the Group’s commercial strategy across Saudi Arabia and Bahrain operations.
• Serve as an advisor to the Chairman and Managing Director on commercial, contractual, and business risk matters.
• Oversee all commercial and contractual functions across the project lifecycle, from tender strategy and risk management to final account settlement and commercial governance.
• Lead major commercial and contractual matters across projects and tenders, including contract reviews, risk assessments, and negotiation strategies.
• Ensure robust management of variations, claims, EOT submissions, loss & expense claims, final accounts, and dispute avoidance/resolution.
• Provide strategic direction on complex contractual issues, including FIDIC and bespoke forms of contract.
• Partner with Project Directors to improve project profitability and commercial outcomes.
• Drive improvements in cost reporting, forecasting, productivity tracking, and CVR processes.
• Support strategic tender reviews, bid/no-bid decisions, and lead commercial input into major tenders and negotiations.
• Improve commercial systems, reporting structures, controls, and processes across the Group.

Qualifications and Experience

• 5-10 years of experience in a relevant commercial leadership role.
• Strong commercial acumen and extensive contractual experience.
• Operational awareness and understanding of project delivery.
• Proven capability in leading people and managing change.
