About the Role

Bupa Arabia is seeking a Consultant Ophthalmology to join their team in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. This full-time role involves providing expert clinical care for the diagnosis, treatment, and management of various eye and vision disorders. The Consultant will utilize advanced diagnostic techniques and therapeutic interventions to improve patient outcomes and will collaborate with a multidisciplinary healthcare team.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform comprehensive assessments and accurate diagnoses of ophthalmic conditions, including detailed patient history interviews and eye examinations.
  • Utilize diagnostic tools such as slit-lamp examination, tonometry, and fundus photography, and analyze imaging studies and laboratory results.
  • Develop and implement effective treatment plans, collaborating with patients on options including surgical and non-surgical interventions.
  • Design individualized treatment strategies, monitor patient responses, and adjust plans based on clinical outcomes.
  • Ensure the delivery of safe, high-quality clinical care, adhering to clinical protocols, guidelines, and best practices.
  • Participate in quality assurance initiatives, clinical audits, and the reporting and investigation of clinical incidents.
  • Foster effective collaboration with multidisciplinary healthcare teams, participating in meetings and communicating effectively regarding patient management.
  • Coordinate referrals and care transitions with external specialists and services.
  • Promote patient safety and satisfaction, implementing and monitoring safety protocols, gathering patient feedback, and addressing concerns.
  • Engage in ongoing professional development, participating in continuing medical education (CME) and staying updated on clinical guidelines.
  • Mentor junior staff and contribute to their professional growth.

Qualifications and Experience

  • A minimum of 5-10 years of experience in Ophthalmology.
  • Demonstrated expertise in the diagnosis, treatment, and management of a wide range of eye and vision disorders.
  • Proficiency in advanced diagnostic techniques and therapeutic interventions.
