The company is seeking a Customer Solution Design Engineer (MP) to join its team in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. This full-time role is central to translating customer requirements into effective KONE solutions.

Role Purpose and Context

The Customer Solution Design Engineer (MP) provides essential technical expertise to the sales team. Operating within KONE's early engagement team, this role ensures that KONE tender layouts and specifications are accurately integrated into the customer's building specifications, facilitating a seamless design and implementation process.

Key Responsibilities

  • Read and sort received customer drawings, raising Requests for Information (RFI) for any conflicts with KONE commitments.
  • Create 2D or 3D layout drawings, ensuring output aligns with customer document control procedures and KONE KOS standards.
  • Identify optimal technical solutions for non-standard customer requirements.
  • Ensure clarity on the scope of solutions, encompassing KONE and potential third-party offerings.
  • Participate in customer meetings and address technical questions as needed.
  • Select the correct product platform for offerings and propose solutions across all KONE business lines, including new services, escalators, elevators, and doors.
  • Prepare 2D shop drawings and 3D models for customer approval.
  • Initiate manufacturing orders based on approved designs.
  • Ensure final KONE drawings align with customer IFC drawings and SL layout drawings.

Internal Contributions and Collaboration

  • Participate in information-sharing sessions for product and new services releases.
  • Provide technical training to Sales, Installation, and Maintenance teams as per frontline needs.
  • Offer input to product offering management regarding customization, standardization, and interface requirements for the portfolio.
  • Contribute to the Customer Solutions Engineering virtual and local network.

Required Experience and Skills

  • 2-5 years of professional experience in a relevant field.
  • Demonstrated technical expertise in solution design and engineering.
  • Proficiency in reading, analyzing, and interpreting customer technical drawings.
  • Ability to prepare detailed 2D shop drawings and 3D models.
  • Strong collaboration and communication skills for effective engagement with sales teams and customers.
