About the Delivery/Integration Engineer Role
Thales Group is seeking a Delivery/Integration Engineer for a full-time position in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. This role involves installing, configuring, and integrating Thales products within customer environments, ensuring alignment with all project and Thales requirements. The engineer will work directly at customer premises, collaborating with various customer teams throughout the project lifecycle, from presales to post-deployment support.
Core Mission and Responsibilities
The primary mission is to ensure the successful deployment and integration of Thales solutions. This includes:
- Performing deployment and integration activities on-site, adhering to customer site rules, access, and security policies.
- Validating site readiness, including access, infrastructure, network connectivity, and required customer dependencies prior to installation.
- Integrating the solution with customer backend systems and core network elements.
- Preparing and maintaining technical documentation for deployment, integration, troubleshooting, and handover.
- Creating and updating customer acceptance test plans and related documentation.
- Following Thales processes, delivery methodology, and integration best practices.
- Supporting development and validation teams during project delivery and providing internal training when necessary.
- Contributing to knowledge sharing within the integration community.
Customer Coordination and Reporting
Effective communication and coordination are key aspects of this role:
- Providing regular progress updates, effort tracking, risks, and completion estimates to the Project Manager.
- Coordinating daily with customer technical, network, security, and operations teams during deployment and acceptance.
- Delivering clear technical status updates to customer stakeholders regarding progress, blockers, risks, and next steps.
- Identifying, managing, and escalating technical risks, blockers, site constraints, and customer-impacting issues promptly.
Testing, Go-Live, and Handover
The role involves direct involvement in the final stages of deployment:
- Executing the customer acceptance test plan with customer stakeholders.
- Troubleshooting technical issues on-site during installation, integration, acceptance testing, and early life support.
- Supporting customer go-live activities and post-deployment stabilization.
- Facilitating handover to customer operations and support teams by communicating documentation, known limitations, and operational procedures.
Qualifications and Experience
Candidates must meet the following requirements:
- Mandatory: Saudi Arabian citizenship.
- Eligibility and willingness to work at customer premises in Saudi Arabia and comply with all site access, security, and administrative procedures.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Telecommunications, Engineering, or a related discipline; equivalent professional experience may be considered.
- Experience required: 2-5 years.
- Fluent English (written and spoken); Arabic language skills are strongly preferred.
Technical Skills and Competencies
Required technical skills include:
- Mandatory Technical Skills:
- Advanced Linux/Unix administration and troubleshooting (minimum 3 years hands-on).
- Shell scripting (Bash, Python, or Perl) for task automation.
- Understanding of IPv4 networking concepts.
- Experience with version control systems (Git, Mercurial, SVN).
- Experience with automation tools (Ansible, Chef, Puppet).
- Familiarity with cloud environments (preferably GCP) and microservices architectures.
- Familiarity with DevOps tools (GitLab, Terraform, Helm).
- Knowledge of containerization and orchestration (Docker, Kubernetes).
- Ability to write SQL queries.
- Experience troubleshooting deployment and integration issues.
- Ability to document technical findings clearly.
- Optional Technical Skills:
- Apache web server configuration.
- SSL certificate configuration.
- Understanding of SOAP and web services.
- Knowledge of NoSQL databases (preferably Cassandra).
- Troubleshooting web service connectivity issues.
Additional requirements include being customer-oriented, a strong communicator, quick learner, self-starter, team player, organized, analytical, and capable of managing conflicts and solving problems in a fast-paced environment. At least 3-4 years of experience in systems administration, solution delivery, integration engineering, DevOps engineering, or software support is expected.
