About the Demi Chef de Partie Role

Four Points by Sheraton is seeking a dedicated and skilled Demi Chef de Partie to join our culinary team in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. This full-time position involves preparing and cooking food to established recipes and quality standards, ensuring exceptional presentation and guest satisfaction within a professional kitchen environment.

Key Culinary Responsibilities

The Demi Chef de Partie is responsible for executing a range of culinary tasks, maintaining high standards of food preparation and presentation. Core duties include:

  • Preparing and cooking food according to established recipes, quality, and presentation standards.
  • Preparing special meals or substitute dishes as required.
  • Regulating the temperature of ovens, broilers, grills, and roasting ovens.
  • Managing food thawing processes by removing stored food from the freezer and thawing it in the refrigerator.
  • Preparing cold food items.

Operational Excellence and Quality Control

This role requires diligent attention to detail in kitchen operations and a commitment to maintaining food quality and consistency. Responsibilities include:

  • Ensuring that portions, presentation, and garnishes meet established standards.
  • Keeping food logs up to date and accurate.
  • Monitoring the quality and quantity of food prepared.
  • Informing the chef of surplus food products for daily specials.
  • Communicating removed items and menu specials to Food and Beverage staff.
  • Ensuring overall compliance with quality requirements and standards.

Team Collaboration and Professional Standards

The Demi Chef de Partie contributes to a positive and safe kitchen environment through teamwork and adherence to professional guidelines. Key aspects include:

  • Indicating when assistance is required during busy periods.
  • Assisting management with employee hiring, training, planning, evaluation, motivation, and coaching, serving as a role model.
  • Following all chain safety policies and procedures, reporting maintenance needs, accidents, injuries, and dangerous working conditions.
  • Maintaining a clean and professional uniform and personal appearance.
  • Preserving the confidentiality of proprietary information and protecting company assets.
  • Anticipating and addressing customer service needs with clear and courteous language.
  • Developing and maintaining positive professional relationships with peers, fostering teamwork, and responding appropriately to colleagues' concerns.

Physical Requirements and Experience

Candidates for this role should possess 5-10 years of relevant experience in a professional kitchen setting. The position also requires the ability to meet specific physical demands, including:

  • Working standing, sitting, and moving for extended periods.
  • Reaching objects overhead and below the knees, including bending, twisting, pulling, and stooping.
  • Moving, lifting, carrying, pushing, pulling, and placing objects weighing up to 25 pounds (* kg) without assistance.
  • Performing other reasonable duties as requested by supervisors.
