About the Role

Solution Leaders Fayez Engineering is seeking a Director of Design Projects Management to join their team in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. This is a full-time position responsible for the leadership, direction, and performance of all project management activities for design projects across the company. The Director will establish unified standards, resourcing, and governance to ensure consistent, high-quality, on-schedule, and within-budget delivery of design projects.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead, organize, and manage the Project Management Department for all design projects, aligning departmental goals with strategic objectives.
• Supervise, coach, and develop Project Managers (PMs) and Design Managers (DMs), ensuring clear allocation of responsibilities and accountability.
• Conduct performance reviews, identify training needs, and support career development for PMs and DMs.
• Plan departmental resourcing and staffing in coordination with HR to meet current and forecast project workload.
• Provide oversight and direction for the planning, execution, monitoring, and closeout of design projects.
• Ensure design projects are delivered on schedule, within budget, and in accordance with contractual scope, quality, and client expectations.
• Review and approve key project management deliverables, including project plans, design programs, resource plans, and risk registers.
• Monitor project performance, intervene proactively to resolve delays, and escalate critical risks and issues to executive management.
• Oversee change management processes for design projects, ensuring proper identification, documentation, and control of variations and claims.
• Ensure consistent adherence to Project Management procedures and design quality control workflows.
• Collaborate with the Quality Assurance Department to support internal audits, ISO 9001:2015 compliance, and continuous improvement.
• Lead PMs and DMs in managing client expectations, resolving escalated issues, and ensuring high client satisfaction.
• Represent the Project Management Department in high-level meetings and coordinate with Business Development on proposal preparation.
• Oversee project budgets, fee utilization, and profitability across the design project portfolio.
• Review financial reports, ensure timely invoices, cost control, and support contract administration.
• Set and enforce unified project management standards, practices, and reporting formats company-wide.
• Drive organization-wide process improvement initiatives for project management and ensure equitable resource allocation.

Qualifications and Experience

• A minimum of 10 years of experience in project management, specifically within design projects.
• Demonstrated leadership experience in managing project management teams.
• Strong understanding of project management methodologies and governance.
• Experience with quality assurance processes and compliance standards such as ISO 9001:2015.
• Proven ability to manage complex projects, budgets, and client relationships.

Work Environment

This role operates within the ZFP management team, holding company-wide responsibility. The position requires direct executive authority over the Project Management function, ensuring adherence to approved governance and reporting lines across all branches.
