Role Overview

The Ritz-Carlton is seeking a Director of Engineering for a full-time position in Riyadh. This role involves leading the management and protection of the hotel's physical assets to support guest experiences. The Director of Engineering is a member of the hotel leadership team, responsible for overseeing engineering, maintenance, facilities management, and asset protection functions across the property. The position requires 2-5 years of experience and combines strategic leadership with technical expertise to ensure the physical plant operates according to standards of safety, reliability, sustainability, and luxury.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead all engineering and maintenance operations, ensuring high standards of reliability, safety, and operational excellence.
• Develop and implement an engineering strategy aligned with hotel objectives, brand standards, and owner priorities.
• Manage departmental budgets, capital expenditure projects, and long-term asset protection plans.
• Oversee preventative maintenance programs for all building systems, including HVAC, refrigeration, plumbing, water treatment, and electrical infrastructure.
• Champion sustainability and energy conservation initiatives.
• Ensure full compliance with all regulatory, health, safety, environmental, and life safety requirements.
• Build, mentor, and develop a high-performing engineering team through coaching, development, recognition, and succession planning.
• Establish relationships with ownership representatives, contractors, consultants, and regional engineering leaders for project delivery and asset stewardship.

Qualifications and Experience

• 2-5 years of experience in a relevant engineering leadership role.
• Demonstrated ability to manage significant budgets and lead capital projects.
• Proficiency in facilities management, life safety systems, and emergency response protocols.
• Experience in implementing preventative maintenance programs and energy conservation initiatives.
• Understanding of regulatory compliance in a hospitality environment.
