Electrical Engineer Data Centre

About the Role

Jacobs (KSA) is seeking an experienced Electrical Engineer to support the construction supervision and delivery of Hyperscale Data Center and Mission-Critical Infrastructure projects across All SA Regions, specifically in Riyadh. This full-time role requires 5-10 years of experience and focuses on overseeing the installation, testing, and commissioning of electrical systems to ensure compliance with project specifications, international standards, client requirements, and local authority regulations.

Role Context and Objectives

The successful candidate will be integral to projects involving Tier III/Tier IV Data Centers and mission-critical electrical infrastructure. This position involves ensuring that all electrical construction activities meet stringent quality and safety standards, from initial design review through to final handover. The role requires coordination with various teams and a strong understanding of complex electrical systems within a data center environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Supervise electrical construction activities to ensure compliance with approved designs, specifications, codes, and standards.
• Review shop drawings, material submittals, method statements, inspection and test plans, and other technical documentation.
• Monitor the installation and testing of electrical systems, including substations, HV/MV/LV distribution networks, transformers, switchgear, UPS systems, battery systems, generators, grounding systems, and lightning protection systems.
• Ensure compliance with Tier III/Tier IV redundancy requirements and mission-critical performance standards.
• Coordinate electrical works with civil, structural, mechanical, ICT, and commissioning teams.
• Support testing, energization, integrated systems testing (IST), commissioning, and handover activities.
• Participate in inspections, audits, quality reviews, and contractor performance assessments.
• Prepare technical reports and support project progress monitoring.

Qualifications and Experience

• A minimum of 5-10 years of experience as an Electrical Engineer.
• Demonstrated experience in Tier III/Tier IV Data Centers and mission-critical electrical infrastructure projects.
• Proficiency in overseeing the installation, testing, and commissioning of complex electrical systems.
• Ability to ensure compliance with international standards, client requirements, and local authority regulations.

Work Environment

This is a full-time position based in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, supporting projects across various regions within KSA. The role involves working within a project team focused on large-scale data center and critical infrastructure development.
