Event Communication Director Freelancer

About the Role

Serviceplan Group Middle East is seeking an Event Communication Director for a contract position in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. This role is responsible for leading all communication, coordination, and execution aspects of events from concept through delivery. The Director acts as the central point of contact between clients, vendors, and internal teams, ensuring flawless event execution, accurate information flow, and proactive decision-making while maintaining high standards of client service.

The ideal candidate will combine strong client-facing skills with operational authority, possessing deep expertise in event production, project management, and stakeholder engagement. This position requires comfort in presenting strategic recommendations to senior clients and holding vendors accountable for deliverables, timelines, quality standards, and budgets.

Key Responsibilities

• Serve as the primary day-to-day contact for clients throughout the event lifecycle, building trusted relationships and leading client meetings.
• Translate client objectives into actionable event plans and production requirements, managing expectations and communicating progress, risks, and solutions.
• Lead and coordinate all external vendors, suppliers, contractors, and production partners, negotiating scopes, timelines, and budgets.
• Oversee the complete event planning and production process, developing detailed project plans and ensuring seamless coordination across teams.
• Lead on-site event delivery, managing real-time decision-making, and ensuring the event experience reflects client objectives and brand standards.
• Maintain clear, accurate, and timely communication across all stakeholders, producing detailed status reports and tracking decisions.
• Work closely with account and event leadership to manage budgets and profitability, monitoring expenditures and supporting procurement processes.

Required Skills and Competencies

• Client Leadership: Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills, professional executive presence, and the ability to navigate challenging client conversations.
• Vendor & Team Management: Ability to command respect and drive accountability across multiple vendors, strong negotiation and conflict-resolution skills, and decisive leadership.
• Event & Production Expertise: Comprehensive understanding of event production, technical requirements, logistics, fabrication, staging, AV, entertainment, hospitality, and venue operations.
• Organization & Execution Excellence: Highly organized with attention to detail, strong project and time management capabilities, and a commitment to accuracy and quality control.

Qualifications and Experience

• Bachelor's degree in Event Management, Communications, Marketing, Business Administration, or a related field.
• Over 10 years of event management, account management, or event production experience.
• Proven experience leading high-profile corporate events, brand activations, exhibitions, conferences, or product launches.
• Experience working with premium and demanding client environments.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office, PowerPoint, project management tools, and event management systems.

Work Environment

This is a contract position based in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, requiring an individual who can manage complex events and multidisciplinary teams effectively under pressure.
