About the Role

As an Exhibition Director for Cityscape West at Tahaluf, a company under Informa PLC, you will be based in Riyadh and contribute to the business through strategic growth planning and high-quality execution. This full-time role requires 5-10 years of experience and involves leading Portfolio 2, which includes Cityscape Global and Global Health Exhibition. The position demands strong reporting and presentation skills, often engaging with high-ranking officials within the Saudi Arabian government and Informa. This is a fast-paced environment where success depends on thriving under pressure and aligning with event demands.

Core Responsibilities

• Develop, direct, and successfully execute a strategy for the ongoing development of events, aligning with targets set by Tahaluf and strategic partners, as well as global strategic objectives for the Tahaluf brand.
• Oversee digital and physical sales, visitor marketing, conference and content development, and onsite show operations.
• Ensure the event achieves its revenue, expenditure, and operating profit targets.
• Create, manage, and deliver an annual budget and quarterly forecast.
• Define the focus and profile of the event in line with industry and user community needs.
• Position and maintain the show as the definitive event in its market, strengthening market share and brand identity.

Leadership and Stakeholder Engagement

• Embrace, support, and maintain team culture, ensuring team members feel content, inspired, and appreciated.
• Act as an ambassador for events, developing key relationships with clients, industry bodies, business leaders, and suppliers.
• Maintain a strong partnership with the Commercial Director to ensure team and sales agents are focused, motivated, and positioned to deliver on agreed goals.
• Successfully manage internal stakeholder relationships.
• Establish a trusted leadership partnership with the AVP and EVP, collaborating on strategy, financial processes (budget & QF), and exploiting global opportunities for event brand growth.
• Create an environment that motivates, values, and enables staff success.
• Oversee staff development within the portfolio, including regular appraisals in line with company guidelines.

Required Qualifications and Experience

• Solid experience as an Exhibition Director, preferably in the B2B sector.
• Demonstrable strategic thinking and strategic planning experience.
• Strong business acumen and experience in reporting, budgeting, and forecasting.
• Excellent interpersonal, communication, and presentation skills.
• Strong networking ability and highly collaborative; capable of forming and leveraging key industry relationships and building long-term customer relationships.
• A thorough understanding of the Exhibitions industry, including the competitive landscape.
• Ability to absorb current affairs, political dynamics affecting event sectors, industry trends, and design directions.
• Demonstrable experience in responding to key industry dynamics through event strategies and tactics to maintain market and competitive advantage.
• A creative and intuitive approach, with examples of applying market intelligence to show content, creating unique visitor experiences, or developing intelligent multi-platform brand extensions.
• An understanding of the business and information needs of key customer communities.
• A passion for growth and the ability to thrive on constant change.
• Middle East experience, with Saudi experience preferred.
• Relevant sector experience is preferred.
• Bachelor’s Degree.
