Financial Controller

About the Role

Hays is partnering with a Holding Group in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, to recruit a Financial Controller. This full-time position requires 5-10 years of experience and involves overseeing financial controls, accounting practices, reporting, and financial governance at the holding level.

Key Responsibilities

• Oversee financial activities and ensure the accuracy, completeness, and integrity of financial records and management accounts.
• Identify internal control weaknesses, assess financial risks, and recommend corrective actions and process improvements.
• Maintain and update records of investments, including listed securities, private equity, venture capital, investment funds, and other investments.
• Coordinate with external auditors during annual audits, including preparing audit schedules, supporting documents, reconciliations, and responses to audit queries.
• Maintain a documented system of internal controls and accounting policies and procedures to ensure the effectiveness of internal controls to safeguard assets.
• Assist in supervising the Finance team and improving finance processes and systems.
• Support the CFO in monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting, and cash-flow management.
• Prepare periodic investment portfolio reports and performance analysis for shareholders, the board of directors, and senior management.
• Develop investment dashboards, management reports, financial analysis, and presentations using advanced Excel, Power BI, or similar reporting tools.
• Provide leadership, mentoring, direction, and supervision to direct reports.

Qualifications and Experience

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a similar field.
• A minimum of 8 years of experience within Investment, Holding Groups, or diversified companies.
• Strong knowledge of financial accounting, reporting, and internal controls.
• Proficiency in Excel with experience using Power BI or other Business Intelligence tools.
