About the Role of Food Runner

Marriott International is seeking a dedicated Food Runner to join its team in Riyadh. This full-time position is ideal for individuals with 0-1 years of experience who are committed to supporting dining operations and ensuring a seamless guest experience. The role involves critical operational tasks to maintain service standards and facility readiness.

Key Operational Responsibilities

As a Food Runner, you will be responsible for essential operational tasks that ensure the smooth functioning of dining areas. Your duties will include:

• Completing closing duties, such as storing reusable goods, breaking down items, cleaning all equipment and areas, returning equipment to proper locations, locking refrigerators, restocking items, turning off lights, locking doors, and completing the daily cleaning checklist.
• Setting up, stocking, and maintaining work areas throughout the day.
• Inspecting the cleanliness and presentation of all china, glass, and silver prior to use.
• Maintaining the cleanliness of work areas continuously by practicing clean-as-you-go procedures.

Adherence to Standards and Guest Interaction

This role requires strict adherence to company standards, a focus on safety, and a commitment to guest satisfaction. Key aspects include:

• Following all company, safety, and security policies and procedures.
• Reporting accidents, injuries, and unsafe work conditions to the manager.
• Completing all required safety training and certifications.
• Ensuring uniform and personal appearance are clean and professional.
• Maintaining the confidentiality of proprietary information and protecting company assets.
• Welcoming and acknowledging all guests according to company standards.
• Communicating with others using clear and professional language.
• Answering telephones with appropriate etiquette.
• Developing and maintaining positive working relationships with colleagues and supporting the team to achieve common goals.
• Listening and responding appropriately to the concerns of other employees.
• Ensuring adherence to quality expectations and service standards.

Physical Demands of the Position

The Food Runner position involves various physical activities, including:

• Ability to read and visually verify information in diverse formats, such as small print.
• Capacity to stand, sit, or walk for an extended period of time or for an entire work shift.
• Ability to move, lift, carry, push, pull, and place objects weighing less than or equal to 50 pounds without assistance.
• Grasping, turning, and manipulating objects of varying size and weight, requiring fine motor skills and hand-eye coordination.
• Moving over sloping, uneven, or slippery surfaces, as well as ascending and descending stairs and/or service ramps.
• Reaching overhead and below the knees, including bending, twisting, pulling, and stooping.
• Performing other reasonable job duties as requested by Supervisors.

Required Qualifications

Candidates for the Food Runner position should meet the following qualification:

• A high school diploma or *** equivalent is preferred.
