About the Role: GIS Data Expert - Utilities & Infrastructure

Aventus is seeking a GIS Data Expert to support a client's GIS data activities. This contract role focuses on GIS data conversion, cleansing, validation, and quality assurance, with a primary emphasis on converting utilities and infrastructure as-built drawings and data into structured, topologically valid Enterprise GIS datasets. The position requires 5-10 years of relevant experience.

Project Context

This engagement supports a leading industrial development authority in Saudi Arabia, working on large-scale utilities and infrastructure GIS conversion projects. The work has a direct impact on national infrastructure planning initiatives.

Mandatory Requirements

  • Minimum of 7 years of hands-on experience in utilities and infrastructure as-built conversion to GIS, including data extraction, conversion, cleansing, validation, and QA/QC.
  • Strong understanding of utilities, infrastructure, and land datasets, including their spatial relationships, topological behaviors, network connectivity, and applicable validation/connectivity rules.
  • Native Arabic speaker.
  • Hands-on experience with the Esri ArcGIS ecosystem, specifically ArcGIS Pro and Enterprise Geodatabases.
  • Availability to join immediately.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience developing and automating ETL/data transformation workflows using Python, ArcGIS ModelBuilder, and/or FME.
  • Experience designing enterprise geodatabase models, including feature classes, relationships, domains, subtypes, topology, and network-related data structures.
  • Good understanding of different types of satellite imagery, their characteristics and applications, and familiarity with major satellite imagery/data vendors.
