About the Role

IHG Hotels & Resorts is seeking a Health Club Lifeguard/Pool Attendant to join the Leisure team at Holiday Inn Riyadh Rose Yard. This full-time position is based in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, and requires 0-1 years of experience. The role focuses on maintaining a safe, clean, and welcoming environment within the hotel's swimming pool and health club facilities.

Role Purpose

The Health Club Lifeguard/Pool Attendant is responsible for ensuring guest safety, monitoring pool activities, and responding to emergencies as required. This position also involves providing exceptional service while upholding the highest standards of hygiene, safety, and IHG brand requirements within the leisure facilities.

Key Responsibilities

• Monitor the swimming pool and surrounding areas to ensure guest safety and enforce pool rules and safety regulations.
• Respond immediately and effectively to emergencies, providing first aid, CPR, or water rescue when necessary.
• Inspect the pool area, water conditions, and safety equipment before and during each shift to ensure readiness and compliance.
• Welcome guests, provide towels and amenities, and assist with inquiries regarding pool and health club facilities.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of the pool deck, changing rooms, showers, lockers, and surrounding leisure areas.
• Ensure pool furniture, loungers, umbrellas, and guest facilities are clean, properly arranged, and ready for use.
• Monitor towel inventory and replenish guest amenities throughout the day.
• Report maintenance issues, safety hazards, accidents, or equipment malfunctions promptly to Engineering or management.
• Assist in maintaining accurate records of pool inspections, incidents, chemical readings (where applicable), and daily operational checklists.
• Support the Health Club Supervisor in maintaining health, hygiene, and safety standards throughout the leisure facilities.
• Promote a friendly, professional, and guest-focused atmosphere while assisting guests with their recreational needs.
• Ensure compliance with IHG brand standards, hotel policies, and local health and safety regulations.
• Perform other duties as assigned by the Health Club Supervisor or management.

Qualifications and Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Minimum 1–2 years of experience as a Lifeguard, Pool Attendant, or in a similar role, preferably within a hotel or hospitality environment.
• Good knowledge of pool safety procedures, emergency response, and first aid practices.
• Strong guest service and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to remain alert, professional, and calm during emergencies.
• Physically fit and able to work outdoors or in humid environments for extended periods.
• Basic knowledge of hygiene, sanitation, and recreational facility operations.

Work Environment

This full-time position operates within the leisure facilities of Holiday Inn Riyadh Rose Yard, requiring work in both indoor and outdoor settings, potentially in humid conditions. The role involves direct interaction with guests and collaboration with the Leisure team.
