About the Role
KPMG is seeking a highly skilled and bilingual professional to join its Indirect Tax team in Riyadh. This role is responsible for planning and overseeing indirect tax engagements, providing technical expertise, and ensuring compliance with complex tax matters. The position requires a minimum of 5-10 years of experience and is a full-time opportunity.
Role Overview
As a key member of the Indirect Tax team, you will manage and lead engagements related to domestic and international transactions, mergers and acquisitions, indirect tax compliance, and audit defense. This role involves providing technical leadership, ensuring the accuracy of junior team members' work, and developing strategic tax positions.
Key Responsibilities
- Respond to indirect tax inquiries from colleagues and clients, ensuring clarity and regulatory compliance.
- Manage and lead indirect tax engagements, including those involving domestic and international transactions, mergers and acquisitions, compliance, and audit defense.
- Review and refine the work of junior team members to ensure accuracy and quality.
- Draft technical positions and ruling requests for complex indirect tax matters.
- Prepare notices of objection for dispute resolution and voluntary disclosures.
- Conduct thorough technical analyses and document findings comprehensively.
- Identify and disclose potential liabilities or compliance issues.
- Handle occasional compliance tasks as required.
- Collaborate with a diverse range of clients, from small enterprises to large public organizations.
- Partner with colleagues to engage new clients and expand the firm’s indirect tax portfolio.
- Develop and deliver presentations and training sessions on indirect tax matters.
Qualifications and Experience
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or a related field.
- Minimum of 6-7 years of dedicated experience in Indirect Tax.
- Bilingual proficiency in Arabic and English is required.
