About the Role

Capella Hotels and Resorts is seeking an Information Technology Manager to oversee all IT operations in Riyadh. This full-time position requires a professional with 2-5 years of experience in a similar managerial capacity within luxury hotels or resorts. The IT Manager will ensure the efficient operation of hotel technology systems, maintain high levels of availability and stability, and drive IT initiatives and system strategies.

Role Overview and Leadership

The Information Technology Manager is responsible for leading the IT department with a clear vision, ensuring the delivery of Capella's brand values and vision to create an exceptional experience for guests and colleagues. This role involves overseeing daily IT operations, ensuring team compliance with service standards and departmental policies, and serving as a role model for professional, high-class guest service in all IT-related matters. The manager will embody and promote the Capella Culture and Service Philosophy.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage daily IT department operations and ensure team adherence to service standards and policies.
  • Build and maintain relationships with external service providers to forecast technology needs and upgrades.
  • Ensure 24/7 availability and functionality of critical systems, including Property Management Systems, Accounting systems, and Point-of-Sales systems.
  • Establish and maintain system security procedures in line with corporate policy and control requirements.
  • Implement and maintain backup procedures for all systems to prevent data loss, adhering to corporate and local policies.
  • Develop new applications upon request from department heads, following approval from the Director of Finance, GM/HM, and consultation with the Corporate Office.
  • Act as a liaison between the Corporate Director of IT and the property, communicating needs and informing departments of system advancements.
  • Ensure strict compliance with data and IT security operating procedures and train hotel colleagues to minimize risks of cyber-attacks.
  • Coordinate with the Training Manager to conduct regular training sessions on data and IT security.
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of hotel services, promotions, and events, and communicate changes to team members.
  • Handle guest complaints and resolve service issues, maintaining records and ensuring timely resolution.
  • Foster a positive working environment, monitor team satisfaction, and maintain strong working relationships.
  • Empower team members, delegate responsibilities, and provide regular feedback.
  • Monitor team performance, provide feedback for improvement, and conduct performance appraisals.
  • Mentor team members, guide their growth, and identify short to long-term goals.
  • Report any issues, damages, or breakdowns within working areas.
  • Lead daily line-up meetings, reinforcing service standards and culture, and attend Head of Department meetings.
  • Review, monitor, and control monthly departmental expenses and provide strategies for profit generation.
  • Implement department project initiatives for continuous improvement of operations and team performance.
  • Drive high quality and consistency in standards to achieve hotel mission, vision, and goals.

Qualifications and Experience

Candidates should possess the following qualifications:

  • A Bachelor's Degree in IT is preferred.
  • A minimum of 3 to 5 years of experience in an IT managerial role within luxury hotels or resorts.

Required Technical Skills

The ideal candidate will have:

  • Strong working knowledge of MCSE certification.
  • Proficient computing skills.
  • Excellent command of written and spoken English.
