The Role of Interior Designer Engineer

WSP is seeking an Interior Designer Engineer to join its supervision team in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. This is a full-time position requiring 5-10 years of experience. The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing the execution of interior design and fit-out works on site, ensuring compliance with approved drawings, specifications, project requirements, quality standards, and health and safety regulations. The role demands a strong technical background in interior design and site supervision expertise.

Key Responsibilities

• Supervise interior design and fit-out works during construction to ensure compliance with approved designs, specifications, and contract requirements.
• Conduct regular site inspections and monitor workmanship, materials, and construction activities.
• Review shop drawings, material submittals, mock-ups, and samples for compliance with project requirements.
• Coordinate with architects, MEP engineers, structural engineers, contractors, and other stakeholders to resolve design and construction-related issues.
• Monitor project progress and provide technical support to the Resident Engineer and supervision team.
• Ensure all interior finishing works meet quality standards and client expectations.
• Identify and report non-conformances and support the implementation of corrective actions.
• Attend site meetings and provide updates on interior works progress, quality, and potential risks.
• Verify completed works and participate in snagging, testing, commissioning, and handover activities.
• Ensure compliance with local authority regulations, safety requirements, and project procedures.
• Review contractor method statements and construction methodologies related to interior works.
• Support project close-out activities, including final inspections and documentation reviews.

Qualifications and Experience

• A minimum of 8 years of experience in interior design and site supervision.
• Strong technical background in interior design.
• Proven expertise in site supervision.

Required Skills

• Ability to coordinate effectively with contractors, consultants, clients, and multidisciplinary project teams.
• Understanding of quality standards and health and safety regulations.
• Capability to deliver high-quality interior environments.
