Job Opening: Solar Solutions Engineer (Technical Sales)

About the Role

Day and Night Company is expanding its operations into solar energy, focusing on farms, factories, and commercial facilities. We are seeking a Solar Solutions Engineer (Technical Sales) to join our team in Riyadh. This full-time role involves designing solar solutions, building client technical confidence, and securing contracts, reporting directly to the Sales Director.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct client site visits to assess loads and energy needs, and accurately size solar systems (on-grid, off-grid, hybrid with battery or generator, and solar pumping for irrigation).
• Prepare comprehensive designs, single-line diagrams, yield and savings/payback calculations, bills of quantities, and technical proposals.
• Present and defend technical proposals to client engineers and decision-makers, ensuring follow-up until contract finalization.
• Source and compare solar components, including panels, inverters, batteries, and cables, from various suppliers and agents based on price, quality, and specifications.
• Coordinate with installation partners and commissioning teams to ensure timely project delivery and adherence to specifications.
• Monitor market trends and competitor activities, represent Day and Night Company at agricultural and industrial events, and report findings to management.

Qualifications and Experience

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical or Energy Engineering, or a related field.
• 4-6 years of experience in the solar market, with a proven track record in preparing proposals from initial site assessment through to quotation.
• Proficiency with PVsyst (or similar software) and AutoCAD; ability to read electrical drawings.
• Strong knowledge of solar components, pricing structures, and the Saudi supplier market.
• Excellent client communication and negotiation skills.

Preferred Attributes

• Experience with solar solutions for farms, agriculture, or solar water pumping.
• Prior experience with battery storage or hybrid solar systems.
• Existing relationships with suppliers and agents within the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.
• Membership in the Saudi Council of Engineers.
• Valid driving license and willingness to travel across various regions.

Work Environment

This full-time position is based in Riyadh and involves working within a growing team focused on renewable energy solutions. The role requires regular interaction with clients and external partners, with travel across regions as needed.
