About the Role
Magna AI is seeking a Lead Accountant to join their team in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. This full-time role involves overseeing accounting and financial reporting functions to ensure accurate, timely, and IFRS-compliant financial reporting. The position requires a strong technical accounting foundation combined with hands-on experience in financial consolidation, accounting policies, audit coordination, and complex accounting matters. The Lead Accountant will be instrumental in building and strengthening a scalable accounting framework for a growing organization.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead accounting and financial reporting activities, ensuring accurate and timely month-end and year-end closing processes.
- Oversee the preparation and review of statutory and management financial statements in accordance with IFRS.
- Assess complex, significant, and non-routine transactions to determine appropriate accounting treatment.
- Develop, establish, document, and maintain accounting policies and procedures in line with IFRS and applicable Saudi requirements.
- Prepare technical accounting papers and position papers for significant or complex transactions.
- Monitor changes in IFRS and evaluate their potential impact on the organization's policies, processes, and reporting.
- Lead group financial consolidation across multiple entities, including intercompany reconciliations and eliminations.
- Support the preparation of consolidated financial statements, disclosures, and supporting schedules.
- Coordinate with external auditors, ensuring timely resolution of audit queries, technical matters, and findings.
- Develop and continuously improve accounting processes, internal controls, reporting procedures, and systems, identifying opportunities for automation.
- Provide technical accounting guidance and coaching to team members, supporting the development of a scalable, high-performing accounting function.
- Partner with Finance and other stakeholders to ensure accounting implications are appropriately considered in business decisions and transactions.
Qualifications and Experience
- A minimum of 5-10 years of experience in accounting, with a focus on financial reporting and IFRS compliance.
- Demonstrated experience in financial consolidation across multiple entities.
- Proven ability to develop and maintain accounting policies and procedures.
- Experience in coordinating with external auditors and resolving complex audit matters.
- Strong technical accounting foundation and understanding of complex accounting issues.
