About the Lead Investigator Role
The Zakat, Tax and Customs Authority (ZATCA) is seeking an experienced Lead Investigator to join its team in Riyadh. This full-time position requires a professional capable of independently managing complex investigations and contributing to the strategic development of ZATCA's investigative functions. The role involves overseeing operational activities, resolving escalated issues, and ensuring adherence to established policies and procedures.
Key Responsibilities and Duties
The Lead Investigator will be responsible for a range of critical tasks, including:
- Developing ZATCA’s investigation strategy through research and comparative studies.
- Managing internal investigation operations, encompassing case collection, assessment, subpoena preparation, and resolution.
- Assisting in the development and distribution of investigative tools, templates, and checklists.
- Conducting preliminary assessments of misconduct cases to identify risks and root causes.
- Receiving and processing investigation cases, collecting evidence, and requesting necessary documentation.
- Preparing subpoenas to initiate formal investigation processes.
- Developing case summarizing reports detailing investigation progress and recommended actions.
- Presenting case reports for approval and ensuring alignment with investigation policies.
- Communicating approved recommendations to stakeholders for implementation.
- Conducting follow-ups to ensure the implementation of recommendations.
- Assisting in employee awareness training regarding ZATCA's code of conduct.
- Maintaining and updating investigation case databases.
Problem Solving and Support
This role requires a proactive approach to problem-solving. The Lead Investigator will be expected to help resolve escalated issues, provide support to junior team members to ensure efficient workflow, and escalate complex problems to the appropriate personnel for proper closure. Adherence to all relevant policies, processes, and standard operating procedures is essential for maintaining a controlled and consistent work environment.
Qualifications and Experience
Candidates for this position must possess the following qualifications:
- A Bachelor’s degree in Legal Studies or an equivalent qualification.
- A minimum of 5 to 10 years of relevant professional experience in investigations.

This is a full-time position based in Riyadh.
