Job Description

About the Role

WETICO is seeking a Lead Production Engineer to join their team in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. This full-time role involves leading a team of production engineers and coordinating the technical execution of fabrication, welding, and assembly works for oil & gas, petrochemical, and water-treatment packages. The successful candidate will ensure compliance with drawings, WPS, Aramco, and international codes, while driving productivity and quality within the production environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Coordinate and supervise the work of production engineers across various fabrication areas.
  • Mentor and support the development of junior production engineers.
  • Translate engineering drawings and specifications into executable job packs and cutting/fit-up plans.
  • Plan and sequence production activities to meet established schedules and optimize resource utilization.
  • Ensure all welding and fabrication processes adhere to approved WPS/PQR and relevant Aramco, ASME, API, and AWS codes.
  • Prepare and review method statements, Inspection and Test Plans (ITPs), and technical calculations.
  • Monitor production progress, productivity, and rework rates, and resolve technical execution issues.
  • Investigate non-conformities and implement appropriate corrective and preventive actions.
  • Interface with Quality Control (QC) teams regarding inspection stages, Non-Destructive Testing (NDT), and dimensional control.
  • Support man-hour estimation and material take-off processes for planning and costing purposes.
  • Enforce Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE) requirements and safe execution methods.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives such as 5S and Lean methodologies on production lines.
  • Report technical progress and any issues to the Production Manager.

Qualifications and Experience

  • A minimum of 8 years of experience in a world-class or Aramco-tier fabrication environment, including involvement in complex and critical projects.
  • Demonstrated expertise in digital engineering/production systems and World Class Manufacturing (WCM)/Lean methodologies.
  • Proven track record of achieving Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) related to first-time-right quality, productivity, and zero-incident performance.
