Linux & Container Platform Engineer

About the Role

DXC Technology is seeking a Linux & Container Platform Engineer to support business-critical infrastructure. This full-time role, based in Saudi Arabia, involves managing systems across physical, virtual, and hybrid environments. The position focuses on ensuring the availability, security, automation, and performance of both Linux and container platforms.

Key Responsibilities

The successful candidate will be responsible for a range of tasks across Linux infrastructure, container platforms, and security, including:

• Administering and troubleshooting Linux systems in physical and virtual environments.
• Managing operating system patching, upgrades, performance tuning, and capacity.
• Utilizing centralized management tools such as Red Hat Satellite or SUSE Manager for consistent configuration and patching.
• Automating routine administration tasks using tools like Ansible or Puppet.
• Supporting virtualization platforms including VMware or KVM.
• Deploying, operating, and troubleshooting containerized workloads with Docker or Podman and orchestration platforms such as Kubernetes or OpenShift.
• Managing Helm deployments, ingress, persistent storage, secrets, certificates, and access controls.
• Supporting container image pipelines, CI/CD integration, and environment automation.
• Monitoring platform health and performance using tools like Prometheus and Grafana.
• Performing backup and restore activities to maintain operational readiness.
• Applying operating system and container security controls, including role-based access and hardening standards.
• Supporting logging, auditing, and integration with security monitoring tools.
• Investigating incidents, resolving recurring issues, and documenting operational procedures.

Required Experience and Qualifications

Candidates should possess 5-10 years of relevant experience and demonstrate the ability to maintain stable, secure, and well-maintained Linux and container platforms. This includes resolving issues across both operating systems and containerized workloads.
