The Role

Tahaluf is seeking an experienced and confident Marketing Director to lead the marketing and communications for a portfolio of high-growth events in Saudi Arabia. This full-time position is based in Riyadh and requires over 10 years of experience. The Marketing Director will be a key member of the cross-functional senior leadership team, playing a crucial role in developing Tahaluf brands and executing the group's market engagement strategy. This role reports to Senior Management and operates within a matrix organizational structure.

Strategic Leadership and Management

  • Serve as a member of the portfolio’s management team.
  • Represent the portfolio across ME and divisional groups on marketing, digital, data, and customer insights.
  • Act as Portfolio Sponsor for GDPR compliance.
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of Corporate/EMEA initiatives.
  • Collaborate with portfolio management to develop value propositions and messaging that drive engagement and conversion.
  • Identify and deliver key portfolio-wide projects to position products for continued growth, including branding, cross-marketing, key account management, and enhancing the first-time exhibitor experience.
  • Utilize customer survey feedback to inform and refine marketing strategies.
  • Identify potential risks to achieving marketing targets and work with the portfolio management team to mitigate them.

Team Leadership and Development

  • Lead a team of marketing and digital managers across a portfolio of products.
  • Provide guidance, feedback, and support to the team.
  • Ensure successful delivery of marketing campaigns in line with agreed KPIs, event, and divisional strategy.
  • Develop skills and competencies of direct reports, establishing clear development roadmaps.
  • Implement succession plans to identify talent and ensure continuous team delivery.
  • Champion the adoption and optimization of marketing technology solutions.
  • Cultivate a high-performance culture within the marketing team.

Campaign Strategy and Execution

  • Lead the portfolio’s marketing strategy, encompassing marketing, data, and digital aspects, and deliver strategic show marketing.
  • Ensure a clear understanding of the business’s overall mission and its communication through marketing and PR, leveraging marketing technology for results.
  • Drive best practice and knowledge sharing in marketing, digital, data, and customer insights across the portfolio and the ME business.
  • Lead and document the results of pilot projects and testing initiatives.
  • Develop marketing capabilities across the portfolio, integrating technology into strategy and tactical delivery, and ensuring team members possess the skills for fresh campaign strategies.
  • Manage budgets and allocate resources effectively across projects.
  • Encourage creative approaches, utilizing market intelligence and show content to create engaging visitor experiences.
  • Collaborate with show teams to optimize engagement at each customer journey touchpoint, introducing new marketing methods and reducing reliance on less effective activities.
  • Identify data trends to inform data-driven decision-making, moving away from opinion-based approaches.
  • Share marketing case studies and best practices from across the EMEA business through collaborative relationships.

Required Qualifications

  • Over 10 years of experience in marketing and communications, preferably within the events or B2B sector.
  • Proven experience as an accomplished marketing and communications strategist.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead and manage operational marketing teams.
  • Familiarity and comfort working within matrix organizational structures.
  • Strong understanding of market dynamics, customer research, internal data, and industry trends.
