Overview of the Role

Throne Solutions is seeking three experienced Network Engineers – Enterprise L3 Routing & Switching to join our team in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. This role is offered on a full-time freelance contract basis and focuses on enterprise Layer 3 routing and switching within IP/MPLS networks. The ideal candidates will support Fixed Broadband Operators (FTTH/DSL) and contribute to network migration planning, installation, configuration, troubleshooting, and operational support in large-scale Cisco environments.

Core Responsibilities

• Design, implement, configure, and troubleshoot enterprise L2/L3 network infrastructure.
• Perform installation, configuration, commissioning, and troubleshooting of network equipment, including Cisco routers and switches.
• Provide L3 support for complex routing and switching incidents, analyzing network faults and performing root-cause analysis.
• Support network optimization, capacity improvements, and service availability.
• Develop and execute detailed network migration plans, including preparing procedures, implementation plans, rollback plans, and test cases.
• Perform pre- and post-migration network validation, coordinating planned network changes to minimize service disruption.
• Work on IP/MPLS networks, supporting infrastructure for FTTH and DSL services, and troubleshooting connectivity, routing, and service-related issues across MPLS.
• Configure and troubleshoot enterprise routing protocols such as OSPF, BGP, IS-IS, and EIGRP, addressing routing adjacencies, route propagation, and forwarding issues.
• Troubleshoot VLANs, trunking, STP, inter-VLAN routing, and IP connectivity.
• Analyze logs, interface statistics, routing tables, and network alarms to resolve hardware, software, routing, and connectivity issues.
• Document migration results, update network documentation, and maintain accurate network records, including configuration backups.
• Collaborate with NOC, operations, architecture, and project teams to resolve complex network issues and execute planned changes in accordance with approved procedures.

Required Experience and Technical Expertise

• 6–8 years of hands-on experience in Network Engineering.
• Strong experience in Enterprise L3 Routing & Switching.
• Experience working with large-scale enterprise or service-provider networks.
• Practical experience with IP/MPLS networks.
• Experience supporting FTTH/DSL Fixed Broadband Operator environments is strongly preferred.
• Hands-on experience with Cisco enterprise, ISR, ASR, and Nexus platforms.
• Robust knowledge of Layer 2 and Layer 3 networking technologies and routing protocols (OSPF, BGP, IS-IS, EIGRP).
• Strong troubleshooting and incident-resolution capabilities.
• Proven experience in preparing and executing network migration plans.

Essential Certifications

• CCNA – Cisco Certified Network Associate (Required / Preferred)
• CCNP – Cisco Certified Network Professional (Highly preferred)
