About Tahaluf and the Operations Manager Role
Tahaluf is the largest B2B live and on-demand events organiser in Saudi Arabia, formed as a joint venture between Informa PLC, the Saudi Federation for Cybersecurity, Programming and Drones (SAFCSP), and the Events Investment Fund (EIF). The company is seeking an Operations Manager (Events) for its Portfolio 3 team in Riyadh. This contract role is central to strengthening the operational foundation for a series of significant events.
Role Scope and Event Portfolio
The Operations Manager will be responsible for the professional operational delivery of allocated events, features, and projects within Portfolio 3. This includes supporting the expanding Umrah & Ziyarah Forum ecosystem and the evolving Innovation Driven Water Sustainability (IDWS) event. The role also contributes to established events such as CPHI Middle East, Umrah & Ziyarah Forum, and Saudi Maritime & Logistics Congress. Reporting to the Head & Senior Operations Managers, the Operations Manager will implement EMEA Operations objectives, with the intention to eventually lead these event streams, requiring high-level Ministry involvement and communication.
Operational Responsibilities
- Serve as the key point of contact for show teams on allocated events, both internally and externally.
- Account for setting, regularly forecasting, and achieving operational show budgets for assigned events.
- Manage the successful show management and technical delivery of physical and digital events, including features and all related tasks.
- Oversee the production and implementation of show project plans, ensuring timely completion of operational tasks within deadlines.
- Ensure all allocated events adhere to the company’s Health & Safety, Security, and Sustainability guidelines.
- Implement internal and external Service Level Agreements across all assigned events.
- Supervise the production and delivery of the show exhibitor manual.
- Communicate with suppliers to manage the brief, design, feature production, and signage process in coordination with show teams and sponsors.
- Coordinate with suppliers and show teams for the brief, design, production, and management of registration areas and the overall welcome experience.
- Compile post-event reports and conduct KPI analysis.
- Collaborate with the Procurement team to monitor contractor performance and identify remedial actions as needed for each event.
Team Leadership and Compliance
- Manage, mentor, and develop line reports and other team members within the EMEA Operations team, balancing workloads and priorities across multiple events.
- Set, monitor, and manage direct reports’ performance objectives and identify training needs.
- Collaborate with colleagues to achieve best practices in operational planning and management.
- Adhere to all Informa compliance requirements and monitor supplier performance to ensure compliance.
- Follow the complete HSS Operating Model for all allocated events, submitting required paperwork and embedding best practices.
- Collaborate with the Informa H&S team to ensure suppliers meet and exceed safety requirements and implement remedial measures when necessary.
- Actively partner with the Informa Sustainability team to support and enhance sustainability initiatives.
Required Experience
Candidates should possess 5-10 years of experience in event operations or a related field. The role requires demonstrated capability in project management, budget oversight, supplier management, and ensuring compliance with operational, safety, and sustainability standards. Experience in managing and developing team members is also essential.
Contract Details and Work Environment
This is a 9-month contract role that can be performed remotely. Tahaluf is unable to provide relocation or sponsorship support for this position.
