The Operations Service Manager Role

The Operations Service Manager (OSM) is a critical leadership position responsible for guiding Airport Customer Service (ACS) teams and partners. The primary objective is to deliver safe, secure, reliable, and customer-focused operations. This role requires an individual who can apply sound judgment, calm execution, and high standards to both daily operational tasks and non-routine situations.

The OSM establishes the operational tone for the station by ensuring frontline execution, partner coordination, and operational discipline align with Delta’s performance and service expectations. The position demands a leader capable of building trust, communicating clearly, and leading consistently across a broad range of operational priorities.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and support ACS personnel, business partners, and vendor teams in operational activities and non-routine situations.
• Oversee operational performance across safety, security, on-time departure performance, customer service delivery, and IROP response.
• Coordinate station execution to ensure a high standard of operational performance and customer experience.
• Serve as a trusted liaison between Delta, business partners, vendors, and local authorities within the station.
• Represent Delta in internal and external meetings with professionalism and sound operational judgment.
• Deliver distinctive service while reinforcing Delta’s brand standards.
• Promote teamwork and shared accountability across business partner and vendor workgroups and leadership teams.
• Manage multiple operational priorities simultaneously, maintaining focus, coordination, and follow-through.
• Build strong working relationships across the airport team and maintain effective communication with Delta leadership and peers.

Operational Strategy and Compliance

• Set clear performance expectations and lead teams through change, innovation, and adoption of new policies and procedures.
• Develop strategic and tactical plans that strengthen safety, support employee wellbeing, and reinforce a safety-conscious environment.
• Uphold compliance with regulatory requirements and maintain strong operational standards.
• Champion continuous improvement in service delivery and station execution.
• Manage emergency response planning and operational activation as required.
• Support employee evaluations, coaching, and development.
• Complete and forward operational statistics, reports, inventories, passenger complaint responses, and insurance claim documentation to the Station Manager and appropriate departments.

Required Experience

Candidates for the Operations Service Manager position are required to have 5 to 10 years of relevant experience in an operational capacity.
